Wythenshawe FC is proud to share a short documentary filmed by up-and-coming Filmmaker Alex Joy and his team, capturing the people, pride and community behind in our 2025/2026 season: one of the most memorable campaigns in the club’s history.
Filmed on Easter Bank Holiday Monday, as the Ammies welcomed West Didsbury & Chorlton to the Avensure Community Stadium, the documentary goes beyond the result on the pitch.
At a time when the club was closing in on the league title, the day brought together everything that makes Wythenshawe FC special.
A record-breaking crowd of 831. A team chasing history. Volunteers giving their time. Supporters filling the ground. Families, sponsors, staff, players and the wider community all playing their part.
This is a film about more than football.
It is about belonging. It is about the people who turn up week after week. It is about the work that happens behind the scenes. It is about the pride of representing Wythenshawe, and the feeling of being part of something bigger than just a club.
The 2025/26 campaign will be remembered for what happened on the pitch, but it will also be remembered for the way it brought people together.
A huge thank you to Alex Joy for capturing the spirit of the club so brilliantly and helping tell the story of what Wythenshawe FC means to the people who make it what it is.
And we did, of course, Win the league… #UpTheAmmies
