Men’s First Team Manager James Kinsey has signed a new contract with the club, keeping him firmly in charge until May 2028.
Over the last 12 months, Kinsey has overseen an exceptional period of success for Wythenshawe FC. He led the First Team to the NWCFL Premier Division title with a record-breaking 106 points and 128 goals, securing promotion back to the Northern Premier League at the first time of asking.
The Ammies then lifted the NWCFL Champions Cup, while Kinsey was also named NWCFL Premier Division Manager of the Year – all while completing his UEFA A Licence with the FAW.
This season, the Ammies have made an impressive start to life at Step Four and continue to exceed expectations.
Since arriving in 2025, the manager has consistently driven standards across all areas of the club, with a particular desire to support and promote our youth section. That commitment aligns with the club’s long-term ambition to build a high-level football club that young players from our local community can genuinely aspire to represent.
Away from the pitch, Kinsey has also played an active role in the club’s continued development and future plans. That 360-degree commitment to Wythenshawe FC was an important factor in the board’s desire to secure his future, as Vice Chairman Steve Donlon explained:
“Since James and his staff arrived, their commitment to this club has been outstanding. They care deeply about Wythenshawe FC, they understand what we’re trying to build here and they’ve completely bought into the journey we’re on.
“The success on the pitch speaks for itself, but what people perhaps don’t always see is the amount of work that goes on behind the scenes. James has thrown himself into the whole club, not just the First Team, and that has been really important to us.
“As a board, we want to keep moving the club forward and build something that is successful and sustainable. When we sat down with James to discuss where we want Wythenshawe FC to be over the next few years, it was clear that our ambitions and our vision for the club are very closely aligned.
“Securing James until 2028 gives us continuity and allows us to keep building on the progress we’ve made. We’re delighted that he has committed his future to the Ammies.”
On signing his new deal, James Kinsey said:
“We’ve absolutely loved our time here. From the moment we arrived, it felt like a club that matched our values and our ambition, and I think everyone can see how much Wythenshawe FC means to us.
“We’re incredibly proud of what we achieved last season, but we’re even more excited about what lies ahead. This club has huge potential and there is still so much more that we want to achieve together.
“For us, nothing changes. We’ll continue working every day to improve the club in every area. On the pitch, we’ve got a tremendous group of players and staff, and our focus is on establishing Wythenshawe FC as a strong Northern Premier League club.
“Off the pitch, we want to continue helping the club grow, strengthen the pathway for our young players and help build something that the whole community can be proud of.
“But the contract doesn’t change our immediate focus. We’ve got another difficult test at Prescot Cables on Saturday and all of our attention now turns to that.
“The rollercoaster continues.”
Everyone at Wythenshawe FC is delighted to have secured James’ future with the club.
Now, it’s on to Saturday.
Up The Ammies!
