Former Premier League winner Antonio Valencia is set to feature for Wythenshawe FC Veterans tonight as the squad continues to bring together experienced players alongside its core of local talent.
The match against Old Stretfordian Georgians Kicks Off at 7.30pm at the Avensure Community Stadium.

Valencia enjoyed a distinguished 10-year career at Manchester United, making 339 appearances for the club, winning two Premier League titles, the FA Cup, two League Cups and the UEFA Europa League. He also captained the club during his final season, becoming the first Ecuadorian to wear the armband.
Speaking ahead of the game, Valencia said:
“I am excited to play with my friends and Wythenshawe Vets, I have been watching from afar with everyone else so it’s great to finally join the team and enjoy competing and playing with a smile on my face.”

Internationally, Valencia earned 99 caps for Ecuador, representing his country at the 2006 and 2014 FIFA World Cups and establishing himself as one of Ecuador’s most respected players of his generation.
He joins a Wythenshawe Veterans group that includes former players from clubs such as Manchester City, Aston Villa, Newcastle United, Sheffield United and Stoke City.
Across the squad, that experience includes: 500+ Premier League appearances, 1,000+ professional appearances, 75,000+ minutes of elite football, Premier League title winners , UEFA Champions League appearances and Full international senior caps.
The Veterans side continues to be an important part Wythenshawe FC set-up, with players involved for the love of the game, the fitness and the chance to be part of a great football environment.
