Winton Yanited, managed by streamer and I’m a Celebrity: Get Me Out Of Here winner Angry Ginge, will use the Avensure Community Stadium for the new season.
The Saturday league youth team move from Winton having used the Ginge Power Stadium, home of Daisy Hill, for their first two seasons.
Winton will feature at Hollyhedge when the Wythenshawe Men’s first team are playing away across their Northern Premier League Division One West season.
Winton Yanited are a junior grassroots club under the Winton Wanderers name, and are the oldest age group in the youth academy.
The team have gained over 123,000 followers on Instagram and are the subject of weekly documentary-style episodes on Angry Ginge’s Youtube channel, racking up millions of views over the last two years.
Winton are also managed by podcast host The Gazz Show, and former Winton Wanderers U18s manager Michael Howell.
The squad also includes streamer Big Beno, who has gained over 119,000 followers on Instagram since the grassroots team gained popularity.
Ammies chairman Carl Barratt said: “We’re really pleased to welcome Angry Ginge and his team to Hollyhedge Park. It’s a fantastic opportunity to bring a new audience to the ground, raise the profile of Wythenshawe FC and showcase the club and our facilities to people who may not have visited us before.”
Since the rebrand, Winton Yanited have won the Bolton, Bury and District Football league twice, including once at Gigg Lane last season.
“As a community-owned football club, we’re always looking for opportunities that can generate additional income and exposure, which can then be reinvested back into the club, our facilities and the maintenance of the stadium and pitch.”
Angry Ginge chose to rename the youth team after his famous catchphrase ‘Yanited’, also a nod to his beloved Manchester United.
“Angry Ginge has built a huge following, particularly amongst younger supporters, and we see this as a great opportunity to introduce some of those people to Wythenshawe FC. Hopefully they enjoy their experience at Hollyhedge Park, come back for our own fixtures and become part of the club’s growing support.”
Speaking to the BBC last year, Winton Wanderers chairman Lee Egan said the streamer was an “inspiration for a lot of young kids” after taking charge of the youth team in his home town.
Winton Yanited face Wythenshawe Vets team on Sunday in a charity match for Manchester Minds and Come Together CIC, which is now a sell out!
