Wythenshawe FC Vets have reached the knockout stages of The Soccer Tournament, keeping their $1million dream alive on the global stage in North Carolina.
After months of headlines, anticipation and excitement around one of the most talked about veterans sides in football, the Vets have now backed it up where it matters most.
Led by Stephen Ireland and featuring a squad packed with top level experience, Wythenshawe arrived at TST with serious intent. This was never just about making up the numbers. This was about taking the name of Wythenshawe FC into a world tournament, competing against international opposition, and showing exactly why this group has captured so much attention.

The group stage had everything.
A strong opening win over Weiss OCFC gave the Vets the perfect start, before a setback against Pasha Luxury FC left work to do. But when the pressure was on, Wythenshawe responded.

In their final group game, with a place in the knockout stages on the line, the Vets came through a dramatic 5-4 win over Dueling For Lincoln FC to book their place in the Round of 32.
It was exactly the kind of performance that sums this team up : Quality, experience, character and belief.
The Vets have already helped shine a spotlight on Wythenshawe FC, our community, our supporters and everything being built across the club. Now, with the knockout stages ahead, they are one step closer to the winner takes all $1million prize.

Whatever happens next, this team has already shown what makes Wythenshawe special.
