Wythenshawe FC Vets will take to the pitch this Sunday 26th April for a special charity fixture against the Once Upon a Smile Celebrity XI, in a match dedicated to the memory of Isaac and Ellis at Altrincham Football Club

The game brings together an outstanding line-up of former professionals and well-known personalities, all united to support Once Upon a Smile as the charity marks 15 years of supporting bereaved children and families.
Our Vets side features an exceptional squad including Papiss Cissé, Danny Drinkwater, Stephen Ireland and Emile Heskey, alongside a host of other former Premier League and international players.

They will face a strong Once Upon a Smile XI led by co-captains Danny Miller and Daniel Jillings, with a squad made up of footballers, actors and influencers including John O’Shea, Darren Fletcher and familiar faces from television.

The event has been organised by two families supported by the charity, whose strength and openness have made this occasion possible, alongside the support of Altrincham F.C..
More than just a football match, the day promises to be a celebration of community, with entertainment for supporters of all ages and a shared commitment to raising vital funds for an important cause.
Once Upon a Smile provides emotional and practical support to children and families following bereavement, offering safe spaces and tailored activities to help young people process grief and rebuild.
