Wythenshawe Football Club are delighted to welcome Mike Phenix following his departure from Avro FC, where he made eight appearances in all competitions.
The forward has a wealth of experience in the game, beginning his senior career at Hindsford and playing for several clubs, including Barnsley, Salford City and Southport.
Mike has gained a significant social media following, using different platforms to talk about his past experiences and to help others with their mental health.
Wythenshawe Manager Shane Goldrick is looking forward to working with Mike in what is a huge season for the club.
“I’ve known Mike when I played against him a long time ago and know a lot of his friends,” Shane said. “He has bundles of experience in the game and lots of character.
“Mike is an honest player who wears his heart on his sleeve and fits with our club ethos. He clearly has a great goalscoring record at this level and higher, so when I knew he was potentially keen, it would’ve been silly not to take up the opportunity.”
Speaking on his arrival at the Hollyhedge Park Community Stadium, Mike said: “I’m really happy to be joining Wythenshawe and to play in my local town.
“I’m looking forward to working with the lads and getting going.”
