Wythenshawe Football Club are pleased to announce that James Kinsey is making a return to the club as Men’s First Team Manager.
James comes back to the Ammies following a very short spell earlier this year.
James spent over five years at local rivals, Wythenshawe Town, which saw promotions, fantastic cup runs and a lot of positive community engagements.
Following this James joined Stalybridge Celtic in the summer of 2023. James took over the club at the club’s lowest ever point and entered a dressing room which had zero players. In October 2023, Stalybridge Celtic and James parted ways, with Stalybridge Celtic in 4th, four points off league leaders Widnes.
Since then, Kinsey has been working for Hednesford Town as part of Gavin Hurren’s backroom staff and will join up with the Ammies next week following the conclusion of Hednesford’s 24/25 campaign.
Senior Chairman Martin Howe said “There has been a lot of hard work behind the scenes after a disappointing season and we are delighted to welcome James back into the Ammies Family. We have full confidence in James and his ability to take the team to the next level. There is a lot of new things coming into play, and we are sure James is the right man to drive these exciting plans.”
James Kinsey said “It is no secret that there was a lot of noise around what happened in January. Having met with Martin and the board, I have seen the clear changes in the club’s structure and plans to build up this club again following a disappointing season.
There is work to be done on the pitch in terms of recruitment, but there is also a lot of work that needs to be done off it to ensure that we are working closely with the community to give a bit back.
I’m excited at what the future holds and look forward to pre-season and the challenge ahead.”
We would like all the Ammies family to get behind James and his team as we look to follow the success we have had in previous seasons.
