Wythenshawe Football Club are excited to announce the appointment of James Kinsey as the Ammies first team manager.
The 32-year-old replaces Shane Goldrick who stepped down from the role last Friday.
Kinsey returns to management just a few months after a 16-month spell in charge of fellow Northern Premier League side, Stalybridge Celtic.
Kinsey joins the Ammies with a 55% win ratio as a manager (in league games) and had this to say after being offered the position “I’m delighted to be given the opportunity to lead the club. Shane has done an unbelievable job in recent years. It’s down to his hard work that the club has managed to reach it’s highest ever level.
Our job now is to try and ensure we remain at this level. We’ve got a very difficult task ahead of us but it’s a challenge that we are relishing. The current group was riding high not so long ago. We will look to add one or two to boost the great group of players that we already have here and will give it our all to get out of the relegation zone.
To do that we need the community behind us in every game, starting tomorrow against Vauxhall Motors. We can’t wait to start and will see you all tomorrow.”
Ammies Senior Chair Martin Howe was equally excited “In James we saw continuity, a leader, someone with high standards, who will fit in perfectly here at the Ammies. He has experience of managing in the Northern Premier League, he knows our club, many of our players, and he has already identified others that he believes can add that little bit of quality we have been lacking in key areas.”
Joining James at The Hollyhedge Park Community Stadium, will be his assistant, Dan Whiteside. Dan has been by James’ side since 2017 when the duo were at East Manchester FC. Since East Manchester, Dan has assisted James at Wythenshawe Town, Stalybridge Celtic and he now makes the move to the Ammies.
James was keen to get to work right away, he will meet the squad this evening and be in the dugout for tomorrow’s game at home to third placed, Vauxhall Motors.
