Wythenshawe Football Club are delighted to announce that Darrhyl Mason has committed his future to the club ahead of our Northern Premier League debut.

The striker arrived at the Hollyhedge Park Community Stadium last summer, and went on to make 31 appearances in all competitions, scoring 19 goals last season.

Darrhyl’s performances last campaign contributed to the Ammies winning back-to-back league titles, and earned him the Manager’s Player of the Season award.

Wythenshawe Manager Shane Goldrick is delighted that Darrhyl has re-signed ahead of the new campaign, and emphasised the importance of keeping key players ahead of the new season.

“I’m made up to get Daz on board next season,” Shane said. “He has had a lot of interest from other clubs, but we are very pleased he is staying with us.

“It is important we keep our key players from last year, so we can kick on again.

“He is a local lad who understands what it means to play for Wythenshawe, and is a key player in the changing room and on the pitch in terms of his effort levels.”

Speaking on extending his stay at the Hollyhedge Park Community Stadium, Darrhyl said: “’I’m delighted to have re-signed for Wythenshawe. After a successful season last year, I can honestly say it was one of my most enjoyable seasons in non-league football. Being a Wythenshawe lad and playing for your hometown club is a privilege. I’ll do my best to score goals as well as help the team hopefully win more silverware this season. Up the Ammies!”

We’re looking forward to seeing Darrhyl in the famous blue and white again next season.
