Wythenshawe Football Club are delighted to announce that Sam Goodwin has committed his future to the club ahead of our Northern Premier League debut.

The defender arrived at the Hollyhedge Park Community Stadium last summer, and went on to make 31 appearances in all competitions, scoring once last season.

Sam’s performances last campaign contributed to the Ammies winning back-to-back league titles, and earned him the Fan’s Player of the Season award.

Wythenshawe Manager Shane Goldrick is delighted that Sam has re-signed ahead of the new campaign, and knows he’ll be an important player in his squad next season.

“I’m delighted Sam has committed his future to the club,” Shane said. “He is an integral part of the squad next season and key for us to progress.

“Sam has grown on the pitch but also as a personality in the changing room since he joined last summer.

“His physicality is vital for us at the back but also he also contributes to keeping possession.”

Speaking on extending his stay at the Hollyhedge Park Community Stadium, Sam said: “I am delighted to extend my stay at Wythenshawe FC for another year. Re-signing was an easy decision considering the success of last season and, more importantly, the familiar surroundings. I’m sure that, with a few good additions to the squad, we will be in and amongst it again next year!”

We’re looking forward to seeing Sam in the famous blue and white again next season.
