Wythenshawe Football Club are delighted to announce the signing of Jamal Crawford, following his departure from Mossley AFC.

At 26 years old, the Manchester-based winger arrives at the Hollyhedge Park Community Stadium with a very impressive footballing CV. Jamal started his career at Burnley FC. He progressed through their academy to their U-23s team, before moving to the Welsh Premier League, representing Llandudno FC.

After a season in Wales, Jamal returned to the English Non-League Pyramid, representing a number of clubs, including FC United of Manchester, Chester and Curzon Ashton in the National League North.

He later donned the colours of Hyde, Bamber Bridge, Glossop North End, Trafford, Widnes, 1874 Northwich, Runcorn Linnets and most-recently Mossley in the Northern Premier League.

Wythenshawe Manager Shane Goldrick is looking forward to working with Jamal and adding his experience of the Northern Premier League to the Ammies squad.

“I was really keen to sign Jamal as he gives us some added pace and strength up front,” Goldrick said. “He will give us natural width in attack and has played at this level before – that is key to helping us kick on next season and will certainly add to the character of the group, as we want to identify the right personalities to join us.”

Speaking on his arrival at the Hollyhedge Park Community Stadium, Jamal said: “I’m really happy to be joining Wythenshawe this season. I’ve been familiar with the club for many years, growing up locally, and I’m excited to join. There are lots of great things happening here, and I’m happy to be a part of it.”
