Wythenshawe Football Club are delighted to announce a new sponsorship deal with local neighbours and international firm Cardinal Global Logistics ahead of the 2024/25 season.

Shane Goldrick, the Ammies’ men’s first team manager, will be leading the club into their first-ever campaign in the Northern Premier League – West, while women’s first team manager James Mulvihill will be embarking on his team’s first season in the North West Womens Regional League Premier, and Cardinal will be on both team’s home and away kits.

Cardinal recognises the importance of funding to regional teams such as Wythenshawe FC, where Premier League clubs are just a short drive away for fans. This funding delivers better facilities, bigger crowds and more talented players – all necessary if we want to achieve our aims.

Wythenshawe is the ancestral home of Cardinal and is where their business’ headquarters are located. After launching in 1998, the business has transitioned from a privately-owned firm with revenues exceeding £500 million to the largest employee-owned logistics business in the world.

The Ammies’ success means a lot to the community. Our 55 junior team have an overwhelming number of local children directly benefit from this, making funding from the likes of Cardinal all the more significant.

Wythenshawe FC’s facilities act as more than just a football ground, they are also home to social events and our facilities have become a hub for the local community and businesses such as Cardinal are able to enhance the support that Wythenshawe FC are able to offer the area.

Craig Poole, UK Managing Director of Cardinal Global Logistics, said “Having already seen what business funding can do for clubs like Wythenshawe FC, renewing our sponsorship was an easy decision to make.

“From the junior teams up, the impact this team has on the local area is enormous. And I’m proud to say we’ve played a part in supporting the hard work that Wythenshawe FC are doing in the community, on and off the pitch.”

Commenting on Cardinal’s support, Carl Barratt, Vice Chair of the Ammies said “It’s great to have Cardinal aboard for another season. With their help, we can grow attendance, improve the experience for visitors and create an even better atmosphere for our amazing fans.

“I am sure our continued partnership with Cardinal will help us to realise our ambitious aims.”
